Watch the pavement, since asphalt and concrete can get hot enough to burn paw pads even when the air feels manageable. Give your dog breaks in the shade or splash zone throughout your visit, especially during peak afternoon heat. Know your dog's limits. Some pups can handle a long, sunny hang. Others do better with a shorter visit and more shade time.
