Cinco De mayo with your dog

Grab your sombrero, grab your pup — it’s Cinco de Paw-yo weekend at Dougie’s! Cinco de Mayo officially lands on Tuesday, May 5, but Orlando’s bringing the fiesta all weekend long. Bar crawls downtown, Rocco’s de Mayo block party, the Kavas Tacos lineup on I-Drive, the Sunset Walk street party out in Kissimmee — there’s no shortage of ways to celebrate. There’s just one small issue… none of it is exactly dog-friendly.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you. Welcome to Cinco de Paw-yo - Orlando’s most tail-wagging fiesta.

What’s on the menu

We’ve been waiting for this one. Our brand-new margaritas and quesadillas officially hit the main menu this month, and the timing is basically too perfect. Here’s what’s on deck for Cinco weekend:

  • The new margarita

  • Fresh quesadillas: Cheese, chicken, you choose — perfectly patio-sized and dangerously shareable.

  • Patio + outdoor play: Both spaces are dog friendly and the splash zone is ready to cool off the hottest pups.

  • 12 beers on tap: Not a marg person? We’ve got a rotating draft list that leans hard on Florida breweries.

Why Dougie’s dog bar is low-key the best Cinco spot in Orlando

Look, downtown on Cinco is chaos. Packed, parking’s a nightmare, and if you bring your pup to a regular bar, you’re spending the whole night playing crowd control instead of actually celebrating. At Dougie’s? Your pup is off-leash in the yard, making new friends, burning out their zoomies. You’re at the bar with a cold marg and a plate of queso, catching up with your own pack. You’re both having your own good time — together, but without getting in each other’s fur.

That’s the whole Dougie’s model, Cinco-ified.

Other dog-friendly Cinco stops around Orlando

If you want to make a day of it, here are a few pit stops we love:

Running of the Chihuahuas (Saturday morning, Winter Park). Cocina 214 hosts this every year and it benefits the Winter Park Lost Pets Foundation and Florida Little Dog Rescue. Tiny dogs sprinting in tiny sombreros for a great cause? Say no more.

Wall Street Plaza patios (afternoon only). The nighttime block party isn’t dog-friendly, but a few patios welcome pups in the afternoon. Call ahead to double-check.

Lake Eola loop. Not Cinco-themed, but a gorgeous pre-marg walk. Lap the lake, then come find us.

And then, of course… come on home to Dougie’s for the main event.

May deals worth wagging about

Three new things just went live at Dougie’s and The Ark this month. Quick rundown:

Scrub & Sip. Book your pup’s bath or groom at The Ark Pet Spa & Hotel next door, then walk over for a drink discount at Dougie’s while you wait or at pickup. Clean dog, cold drink, one happy afternoon. Honestly? Peak Cinco Saturday energy.

Daycare Checkout Happy Hour. Picking up your pup from Ark daycare during happy hour? Show the receipt at our bar and get member drink pricing. Member or not. Because tired dog + cold drink = undefeated combo.

Summer boarding — book now! If you’re traveling at all this summer, book The Ark today. Memorial Day suites are almost gone, and Fourth of July fills up lightning fast every single year.
