What Is a Dog Bar? Orlando’s Dog Park and Social Club Explained
A dog bar is exactly what it sounds like. And a lot more.
It's an off-leash dog park and a full bar in the same place. Your dog runs, plays, and makes friends. You grab a drink, order food, and hang out with your people. Nobody has to stay home. At Dougie's Dog Bar in Orlando's Packing District, we think of it as an elevated dog park and a social hub for pets and their people.
Built around dogs, not just okay with them
Plenty of places are "dog friendly." That usually means your dog can sit under the patio table if they're quiet.
Dougie's is different. We didn't add dogs to a bar. We built the whole place around them.
An off-leash play yard made for running, wrestling, and zoomies
A doggie splash zone for hot Florida days
Plenty of shade
Play yard attendants who keep an eye on the pack on busy nights
Vaccine and spay/neuter requirements for every dog in the yard
Then we added everything the humans want.
12 beer taps with local brews and national favorites
Snacks, shareables, and entrees
Indoor and outdoor seating
Ten TVs and a 16-foot LED jumbotron
Weekly events like trivia, live music, movie screenings, game day, and cornhole
How does a dog bar work?
It's simple.
Set up your dog's profile. Add your dog and upload vaccine records on our online portal.
Pass the assessment. Every dog is checked to make sure they're friendly with other dogs and people.
Grab a pass or membership. Day passes start at $10. Monthly memberships start at $35.
Come hang out. Your dog plays in the yard. You order at the bar. Everyone has a good time.
One important thing: you stay with your dog. Our yard attendants are there to help, but you're your dog's person the whole time.
Who goes to a dog bar?
People who think of their dog as family. That's really it.
At Dougie's, you'll see young professionals stopping by after work, couples on a casual date night, friend groups meeting up on weekends, and empty nesters whose dog is basically their kid now. Different ages, same idea: life is better when the dog comes too. You don't even need a dog to come. Friends without dogs can hang out like at any other bar, and dogs on leash can join you on the patio without a pass.
Dog bar vs dog park
A dog park gives your dog somewhere to run. A dog bar gives you both somewhere to be.
Every dog in our yard is vaccinated, spayed or neutered if over 8 months, and assessed
Attendants watch the yard
There's shade, a splash zone, food, and cold drinks
There's actually something to do while your dog plays
Dog bar vs dog-friendly bar
A dog-friendly bar lets your dog come along. A dog bar is designed for them. The yard, the rules, the staff, and the layout all start with the dog. That's the difference you'll feel the second you walk in.
Is a dog bar right for my dog?
If your dog loves other dogs and people, almost certainly. If your dog is shy, reactive, or still working on their manners, the patio might be a better start. Leashed pups are always welcome to join you there.
