What's Happening at Dougie's This August
August is packed at Dougie's. Between our regular weekly lineup and a run of one-off events, there's a reason to grab your pup and head to the Packing District pretty much every day we're open. Here's the full breakdown, week by week. We've also got the visual calendar for you to save, but if you want it spelled out, here you go.
Week One: August 1-7
We open the month with '90s Night on Saturday the 1st, so dig out your best throwback fit and get ready for the best of the decade. Sunday brings Chill Coffee Hour with Foxtail Coffee deals for a slower morning start. We're closed Monday the 3rd like every Monday, then the weekly lineup kicks back in: Singo (music bingo) on Tuesday, Singles/Wine Night on Wednesday with 2-for-1 wine and a room full of fellow dog lovers, Fetch & Flex Thursday with $7 wing or flatbread specials for High Point and YMCA members, and Breed Meetups spotlighting Working Dogs on Friday.
Week Two: August 8-14
Saturday the 8th is a big one, with the High Point Southern Grit Climbing Tournament running alongside our torment after party and Dog & Human Holistic Health Assessments. Sunday brings a Corn Hole Tournament for anyone looking to test their skills. We're closed Monday the 10th, then it's back to the weekly rhythm: Singo Tuesday, Singles/Wine Night Wednesday, Fetch & Flex Thursday, and Breed Meetups spotlighting Bullys & Terriers on Friday.
Week Three: August 15-21
Rock & Roll Night takes over Saturday the 15th, followed by Barks, Books, Brews on Sunday, our book club meetup paired with Foxtail Coffee deals. Closed Monday the 17th as usual. Then it's Singo Tuesday, Singles/Wine Night Wednesday, Fetch & Flex Thursday, and Breed Meetups spotlighting Chihuahuas on Friday.
Week Four: August 22-31
Saturday the 22nd brings a Luau Party with live music, pools, and pineapple food and drink specials. Sunday is Sit, Sip, Stay with 2-for-1 mimosas and sangria. Closed Monday the 24th. The weekly lineup runs through Singo Tuesday, Singles/Wine Night Wednesday, and Fetch & Flex Thursday, before Friday the 28th brings a Foam & Glow Party paired with Breed Meetups spotlighting Spaniels. Saturday the 29th is College Football Kickoff, with football, beer, wings, and dogs all weekend long. Sunday the 30th is Teacher's Pets Day, where teachers get in free and anyone who donates school supplies gets their dog in free too. We close the month on Monday the 31st, same as every Monday.
